There are two base cams located at the amazing Mt Everest. The camp you can access from Nepal is called the Southeast Ridge base camp and it will take you around 6 or 8 days to hike there. Most hikers fly into Lukla and pass through Namche Bazaar. The camp is located at a  height of 5360m and it will take you a little while to properly acclimatise. During your time at the camp, have a look around the Khumbu icefalls and visit the nearby peak of Kala Pattar (5545m) for a stunning view of Mt Everest.

 This gorgeous nature reserve is the only place in the world where you can still find the one-horned Indian rhino and a good number of tigers, leopards and Gangetic dolphins. You can stay in upmarket lodges or else head down to Sauraha.

Pokhra is the second largest city in Nepal and is located at the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit trek. Here you will find lots of treks that will lead through the remarkable mountains of the Annapurna Range, the setting is spectacular. Phewa Tal is Nepal's largest lake that seems more like a huge mirror with its deep and clean waters. For a stunning view of the Phewa Tal and the surrounding mountain peaks, trek up Peace Pagoda built by Japanese Buddhist monks.

  This  is Nepal's largest city and has been a Mecca for travellers since the 1960s. Nowadays things have changed a bit in regards to the political situation but Kathmandu is still an amazing capital that has a great cultural and artistic heritage. The temples and backstreets of Durbar Square seem to tell you a story you haven't heard before, and Thamel is the place for some bargain shopping. Make sure you see the Buddhist temple of Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple. Another important monument is Nepal's Pashupatinath Temple located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. And if you have got some time head to Bodhnath which is an important religious symbol for the Tibetans exiled in Nepal.
